Starting with the Basics of the Ford F-150 Trim Level Differences

If your idea of a truck is something that gets the job done without a lot of extras, you’ll love the F-150 XL, STX, or XLT. From the 17-inch steel wheels to the vinyl flooring and Class IV trailer hitch, the XL trim has what you need. But even in this entry-level trim, you can stay connected using the Sync 4 infotainment system and the massive 12-inch touchscreen.

If you like the XL but want larger wheels, the STX is where you should land. It also has carpet on the floor, which makes some optional features available. The XLT adds just a few more features, such as carpet on the floor and a power-adjustable driver’s seat.

Let’s Get a Little Fancier

Looking for a more luxurious ride in your F-150? Upgrade your ride in the Lariat with its leather upholstery and power-adjustable front seats that also have heat and ventilation. Not enough? No problem, just step up to the Platinum. This trim has heated rear seats and a power-adjustable AND heated steering wheel.

Sitting between the King Ranch and Platinum trims is the LARIAT, which adds BlueCruise Hands-Free Highway Driving and a Head-Up display that projects important driver information right in your line of sight, so you never have to take your eyes off the road.

Make an even more luxurious statement in the King Ranch. This is the ultimate F-150. It has a two-tone interior and exterior color scheme, a two-panel moonroof, and massaging front seats. The 14-speaker B&O stereo system is also a plus in this truck.

Lets Head Off Road

You don’t have to stick to the road no matter which F-150 you have, but there are a couple of trims that add extra off-road goodies to make it even more fun. The TREMOR comes standard with all-wheel drive and has 33-inch all-terrain tires. An off-road suspension and locking rear differential make sure you are ready for any terrain.

The Raptor has a high-output version of the V-6 engine that puts out 450 horsepower and comes with even larger 35-inch tires. The upgraded off-road suspension is enhanced even further with adaptive Fox shocks. If you want to take the Raptor’s capabilities even further, check out the Raptor R. It has a supercharged V-8 engine and larger tires.
