Ford F-150 vs. Chevrolet Silverado 1500

Ford’s F-150 full-size pickup has been America’s top-selling truck for years. With seating for up to six and a max towing capacity of 13,500 lbs., the F-150 is spacious, powerful, and capable. It also comes in a wide range of trim levels, from the basic XL to the luxurious Platinum and off-road-ready Raptor.

Chevrolet’s full-size pickup is the Silverado 1500. It’s also a powerful contender among full-size trucks, but the Silverado’s towing capacity is 200 lbs. lower than the F-150’s, and it has a less spacious cab. That said, the Silverado remains a popular choice thanks to its powerful engine and desirable features.

Ford Super Duty vs. Chevrolet Silverado HD

Ford makes a wider range of heavy-duty trucks than Chevrolet, so for the sake of simplicity, we’ll stick to the most direct comparison. The Ford F-250 Super Duty is the brand’s most affordable heavy-duty truck, but it packs a serious punch. With a payload capacity of 8,000 lbs. and max towing set at 40,000 lbs., it can do almost anything.

The Chevrolet Silverado HD doesn’t quite match the Ford Super Duty’s capabilities. You can tow up to 36,000 lbs. and haul 7,237 lbs.

Ford F-150 Lightning vs. Chevy Silverado EV

Ford and Chevrolet have fully electric trucks available to those who want to take full advantage of modern technology. Though you can expect to pay more for them upfront, these trucks offer highly efficient ways to get the job done.

The Ford F-150 Lightning has a range of 320 miles and comes with all the latest technology, including Forde BlueCruise hands-free highway driving. The F-150 Lightning lives up to its name, as well. It can accelerate from 0-60 in less than four seconds.

The Chevrolet Silverado EV has a greater range than the F-150 Lightning at 440 miles. Like the F-150 Lightning, it can tow up to 10,000 lbs. The difference is that the Silverado EV hasn’t been around as long as the F-150 Lightning, so it doesn’t have the same proven track record.

Ford Maverick vs. Chevy Colorado

Ford’s mid-size pickup is the Maverick. Smaller than the full-size F-150, the Ford Maverick offers an impressive balance of capability, affordability, and efficiency. It’s also easy to maneuver in tight parking lots and city streets but maintains a towing capacity of up to 4,000 lbs.

The Chevrolet Colorado is Chevy’s mid-size truck. It has best-in-class ground clearance and tailgate functionality, and its towing capacity is higher than the Maverick’s. However, with a significantly higher starting MSRP, it doesn’t offer the same value.
