What is Ford Autoglow?
Every September, patrons of the North American International Auto Show are invited to a charity preview at Ford Field in Detroit. There’s even a party with valet parking, pre-even drinks, and hors d’oeuvres before guests are shuttled to the Preview at the riverfront Huntington Place Convention Center, where all the new vehicles are on display.
The Ford Autoglow is hosted by Ford’s executive chair and his wife, Bill and Lisa Ford, along with Ford’s CEO and his wife, Jim and Lia Farley. The charity event has helped raise nearly six million dollars for The Children’s Center.
Who Can Attend?
Anyone who attends the Charity Preview is able to buy a ticket for the Ford Autoglow. Most of the attendees are parts of Ford’s various leadership teams and friends of the family.
Autoglow tickets are available for purchase on the Children’s Center website. Tickets start at $275 until August 31st. After that, ticket prices jump to $325. In order to purchase tickets, you must already have a ticket to attend the Charity Preview. It is a black tie event, so dress accordingly.
What to Expect
The Autoglow takes place on Ford Field and takes over most of the area. Of course, the playing field is left alone so as to not interfere with any upcoming games. The event takes on different activities each year, but you can expect a night of music, dancing, and fun.
This year, music will be provided by DJ Prevu. There will also be an opportunity to create an original piece of artwork alongside Trae Isaac, a local Detroit artist. You’ll be able to walk alongside some of the biggest movers and shakers in the region, all while supporting a great cause.
Autoglow runs from 4:30 pm to midnight. The pre-event reception starts at 4:30 and goes until 7:00 pm. The main party kicks off at 8:30 pm.
The Children’s Center
The Children’s Center has been helping children and families for over 93 years. Each year, this organization serves over 3,500 children in the greater Detroit area by providing foster care, adoption, and evidence-based mental and behavioral health services/therapy.

North American International Auto Show
The North American International Auto Show (NAIAS), often called the Detroit Auto Show, brings thousands of people to Detroit to learn more about the auto industry. It’s known as the foremost venue for auto manufacturers to unveil new products.
The show begins with preview days and the Autoglowcharity event. The 2022 version of the NAIAS will be the first time this event is held both indoors and outdoors. You’ll find events at Huntington Place, Hard Plaza, and downtown Detroit.
